The Provenance Pt 1 tells a story of a journey into exploration and experimentation with textures, collaboration and visionary aspects that accord to the Lukhanyo Mdingi cosmology. In collaboration with Morné Visagie and THEFOURTH art and design gallery, Lukhanyo Mdingi’s world is brought to life through an installation that perfectly displays the curation of storyboards, explorations and physical manifestations of textiles that make up the label’s profound relationship to craft, and the human hands behind it. Provenance is a perfect depiction of a warm heartfelt welcome by Lukhanyo into the intimate nexus upon which the label has been built since 2015. The exhibition will be open to the public until the end of November in Cape Town, Exchange Building.
