Careers Magazine, South Africa’s youth-led and youth-owned monthly magazine is back on shelf, with a bumper issue (October and November), following a hiatus because of the Covid-19 lockdown.

The magazine had exclusively moved to digital, but the publisher is confident there is still an appetite for print amongst its target market, whose primary audience is between 18 and 35.

“Apart from touch and feel, magazines allow for longer format, in-depth articles and also great for collecting and sharing as our content is not dated,” said Nkokheli Lindazwe, Careers Magazine’s general manager.

He said while the online uptake is good, print was an important part of the content delivery mix with video content on the social media platforms also proving to be popular.

“We are excited to be back and serving the country’s majority – young people. We have great plans in the works to make Careers even more accessible and indispensable to more and more youths, especially during this time of great change and upheaval,” Lindazwe said.

The new issue is a massive 124 pages with popular financial journalist Arabile Gumede as its cover, sharing his inspiring story of how he become one of the best in his field.

The double issue is also brimming with valuable information from how to save as a student, how to survive learning online, to inspiring interviews with prominent figures such as incoming University of Witwatersand Vice Chancellor Professor Zeblon Vilakazi and medical aesthetician Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

There’s also an opportunity to win a brand new Playstation 5 gaming console, shopping vouchers and data as part of Careers Magazine new survey.

Careers Magazine is targeted at young South Africans at various decision-making stages for their job path, education, skills development, and livelihood.

The October/November print edition is available on shelf from 30 October 2020 from be Pick n Pay, Woolworths, and Spar. The e-edition can also be purchased on the magazine’s website, www.careersmagazine.co.za
