The Creative Career Acceleration Program (CCAP) has recently launched a mentorship programme aimed at nurturing and supporting young, aspiring artists and creatives in South Africa. Led by Stallone Santino, an accomplished actor, director and producer, this initiative offers practical, hands-on learning experiences, professional development opportunities and valuable work experience in the arts sector.

With support from Business Arts South Africa (BASA) and the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture (DSAC), the programme aims to equip participants with the skills and resources needed to succeed in the arts industry and make a positive impact on South Africa’s arts landscape.

The CCAP mentorship programme is designed to provide young South African artists and creatives with practical experience, knowledge and insights into the the arts sector. Through a range of hands-on learning experiences and professional development opportunities, participants will have the chance to develop their skills and gain valuable work experience in their chosen artistic discipline.

The mentorship programme boasts a lineup of industry professionals from various art disciplines who will provide guidance and support to the participants. These mentors include film and television actress Mayuri Naidu, arts manager Lindiwe Lekasapa, choreographer Owen Lonzar, and filmmaker Londiwe Shange, among others. Their expertise and experience will prove invaluable to the young artists and creatives, offering them mentorship and guidance as they navigate their chosen artistic paths.

The CCAP mentorship programme has received support from Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) and the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture (DSAC) through the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme. This support highlights the importance of investing in the development of young artists and creatives, recognizing their potential to contribute to the growth and enrichment of South Africa’s arts industry
