UNI FORM, a Johannesburg-based fashion brand founded by designer Luke Radloff, is challenging outdated notions of African fashion. With a focus on quality and sustainability, the brand’s collections feature modular, trans-seasonal pieces that embody a timeless aesthetic. Rooted in impeccable tailoring and a muted colour palette, UNI FORM offers classics with a contemporary twist.
UNI FORM’s collections are defined by relaxed fits, soft tailoring, clean lines, and a muted colour palette. This minimalist approach results in garments that exude a sophisticated, understated elegance. By combining classic elements with modern silhouettes, UNI FORM offers versatile pieces that can be worn for years to come.

Luke’s creative process is organic and iterative. Rather than starting from a specific point, he builds upon previous work, constantly developing and redeveloping his designs. His inspiration comes from creating garments that are considered and have a solid context within the contemporary world. This approach ensures that each UNI FORM piece is thoughtfully crafted and resonates with the brand’s vision.
Sustainability is at the heart of UNI FORM’s ethos. Radloff believes that a truly sustainable garment is one that can be worn for a long time, if not indefinitely, with proper care. To achieve this, the brand primarily uses natural fibers known for their quality, feel, and longevity.

They also incorporate tech fabrics and sustainable man-made cellulose fibers. Whenever possible, UNI FORM sources materials locally, reducing their carbon footprint. Additionally, the brand is conscious of the environmental impact of dyeing processes and is exploring responsible ways to incorporate more colour into their collections.
f One notable collaboration is with Barrydale Hand Weavers, a collective based in the Karoo town of Barrydale. Together, Radloff and Barrydale Hand Weavers create textiles using looms and other sustainable processes, resulting in pieces that embody sustainability at their core.
