At the heart of this project is the philosophy of Ezokhetho, which means being carefully chosen as the best by those who came before us. This idea runs throughout the video, honouring the resilience of women and their strong spirits.

The piece features a group of ‘chosen ones’—women who represent endurance, wisdom, and grace. They are shown finding their way back home, both in a literal and metaphorical sense. BlackMilk’s photography captures the play of light and shadow, putting together traditional textures with modern styles to create visuals that are both haunting and beautiful.
