Apple Music’s Home Session features reimagined signature songs and thoughtful covers recorded by artists at home and today, Nigerian singer-songwriter FAVE (real name Chidozie Godsfavour) releases her own stripped down Home Session.
“The lockdown taught me the value and effect of music – and entertainment as a whole – spending entire day hours at home, idle or alone. I’m lucky to be amongst the voices providing comfort and companionship for people in these times, through music. Now, I’m more appreciative of the times I get to share moments with fans on stage when we sing our hearts away because of regulations to keep us safe.” tells FAVE.
The Home Session EP, available to stream on Apple Music in Spatial Audio, will feature three exclusive unplugged tracks from the singer, including her smash hit “Baby Riddim” and “S.M.K”, both off her latest Riddim 5 EP, as well as a cover of Jamaican singer Popcaan’s hit single “Silence”.
“I chose ‘Silence’ by Popcaan because it’s one of my favourite songs. It has a bounce that I appreciate in any mood, an amazing beat and the message in it is heavy. It’s a complete vibe and I’m excited to have gone from making my own version in my bathroom, to putting it out there. Thanks to Apple Music for this opportunity. I hope you enjoy ‘S.M.K’ and ‘Baby Riddim’ Home Sessions at a slower pace for your calmer mood,” says FAVE.

As one of Apple Music’s Africa Rising artists, FAVE has risen sharply within the ranks of Nigerian music’s best and brightest courtesy of her debut single “M.O.M.M.S.” (2019) that showcased her impressive range and powerful tone and featured in two of Nollywood’s most prominent TV series.
