Siyabonga Nhleko popularly known by pseudonym Jr Ecko, is currently amongst the leading new-generation photographers and creative directors in South Africa. He’s executed some of the most futuristic, compelling and noteworthy concepts for recognisable names and brands such as Kabza De Small, Uncle Waffles, Focalistic, Kamo Mphela, Hype Magazine, Ashluxe, Black Crown and more.

His self-taught journey in photography began in 2016, he then got into events photography but out of frustration of being unable to express is true creativity be decided to redirect to the popular style of photography he’s known for today. Taking inspiration from movies and music videos, Jr Ecko uses CGI (computer-generated imagery) and Digitech to bring his futuristic concepts to life. The photographer has been working on merging his Western/American influences with African culture. Having worked on Tanzanian superstar, Jama Jux’s King of Hearts art cover, Jr Ecko is on the quest to take over Africa with his futuristic and captivating style of photography.
