Cape Town screen writer and film director Talya Galasko has recently announced that she will be represented by acclaimed Argentinian production agency Casta Diva across territories in Latin America. The young director took to Instagram to share the news of her new venture which will see her work being distributed throughout in the international territories.

Talya Galasko has directed TVC’s and branded content for corporate establishments of the like of Pick & Pay, Game, Seattle Coffee, Arc Store, Always (US & Canda) and Bernini — just to name a few. Galasko has also created short cinematic pieces with her most darling and captivating project being Hush.

The short film comments on a occurrence that the country knows all too well — Gender based violence. In a bold step to uplift a narrative that is largely misunderstood amongst South Africans, Galasko commented on the unfortunate phenomenon after follow verbal, physical & sexual assault cases such as victim silencing, victim shaming, terror and guilt. “I wanted to get in touch with what it actually means to be a woman in South Africa. Hush was a departure, but I still wanted the audience, men in particular, to be in the room and feel the discomfort and question their own experiences or compliancy.” comments Talya on the motivation behind creation of the body of work. I wanted to make something that belongs to us women and embalm it.
Talya Galasko is already represented by a number of agencies dealing with operations in different territories of the world such as South Africa and Germany. She has now acquired representation for the Latin – American territories by Casta Diva proving that her influence is spreading far and wide.
