Congratulations !
It has never been a more fruitful time to be a storyteller in Africa. An abundance of talent across Africa have submitted their film projects for funding approval to The Write Project since its launch in July 2020.
Thousands of film projects are produced every year with earnestness, sincerity, and absolutely no hope of finding a market. So when a film project doesn’t work and the investment is lost, it becomes increasingly harder to justify to our investors the importance of this funding initiative. The risk involved is considerably different and higher for us to select the right projects likely to generate sustainable growth in order to deliver excellent financial returns to our investors.
Listed below are the Finalists as well as optioned projects from the first cycle of applications from around Africa to The Write Project Film Fund. These exceptional and visionary projects were selected from over 900 submissions.
Congratulations to the filmmakers who have made it this far and thanks to all for submitting!
