ICON WEAR recently announced that street wear designer and founder of ”Foy bear” designs, Kagiso Matlaisane will be joining their innovative team. Kagiso will be joining ICON WEAR as the new Women’s designer and will debut her first collection in April.
Kagiso was a model for ICON WEAR’s first ever collection in 2016 before pursuing a career in fashion design which ultimately led to her and ICON WEAR crossing paths once again.
She studied Fashion Design at the University of Johannesburg. In her third year, she designed a cocktail dress for a contestant of the 2017 Miss SA pageant. Her final collection was the focus of a fashion film, by creatives in Cape Town, which went on to be selected for nomination for the Bokeh Fashion Film Festival, in 2018. She also participated in the SA Fashion week scouting men’s wear competition, in 2022.
”We are extremely happy to have Kagiso on the team and we’re excited for what the future holds” said ICON WEAR.
