Inscape Education Group has partnered with The Knowledge Trust to give away One Million Rand’s worth of scholarships to those looking to further their education after Matric.
Individuals looking to pursue careers in Ideation Design or Digital Marketing & Communication are invited to apply for 2021 scholarships to study at the oldest privately-owned multi-disciplinary creative arts institution in South Africa.
The future of work is changing and new skills are constantly being sought after. Inscape has been equipping young South Africans for jobs in design, consulting, user-experience and other in-demand careers for decades.
A study conducted in 2019 indicated that 51% of South Africans between the ages of 18 and 24 can’t afford any form of higher education, and this is a huge barrier for South Africa to progress to an inclusive society.
“Young South Africans have historically been limited in their ability to access higher education due to financial constraints. It’s imperative that as a country, we do everything we can to educate our people. Without this, we will never reach our full potential – both as individuals and a collective,” said Jaryd Raizon, Country Manager at The Knowledge Trust.
The Knowledge Trust aims to make education more accessible to more people, more often. They partner with education providers across the country to democratize access to education and in the past 4 years, they have given away over R10 million in free education to deserving South Africans.
From full degrees to short courses and online matric colleges, The Knowledge Trust makes education affordable for those who need it the most.
The partnership with Inscape Education Group aligns with The Knowledge Trust’s efforts to create access to opportunity.
Not only do the Inscape scholarships provide financial aid for tuition, but they also believe in equipping their students with the necessary tools and materials needed to succeed.
Applicants without access to a laptop, tablet and software will be provided with resources needed to level the playing field, and to give all students an equitable opportunity to reach their full potential.
“Simply put, the Inscape Scholarship Programme aims to provide opportunities for young, vibrant and deserving students who see themselves as game changers in the world of design, business and communication. The programme seeks to improve access to qualifications that prepare them for the future of work. We believe that graduates from Inscape have a role to play in defining the future and bring about positive change and development within our country, this continent and the world. Unique thinkers who exemplify Design for Life,” said Thulare Matlaba, Global Brand Manager at Inscape.
Those interested in applying for a scholarship in either Ideation Design or Digital Marketing & Communication must be available to study full-time at one of the Inscape campuses in Midrand, Pretoria, Cape Town, Stellenbosch or Durban, and should not have any prior tertiary education.
To submit an application, aspiring students are invited to visit The Knowledge Trust website on www.knowledgetrust.org before 4 November 2020.
