Multi- disciplinary creative Jay Carson has taken a gander at yet another shoe project flexing his aptitude of seamlessly executing a one of a kind collaboration. Carson teamed up with the subversively cool shoe brand Crocs to deliver a buoyant rendering of the foam clog.
Pretoria born Jay Carson, now based in the big apple, has an affinity for embedding a cheerful quality into this art, corresponding with his life’s purpose of creating moments filled with hope for many. Carson is founder of a social-cultural research project called ‘Township Rockstar’ and youth organization, ‘Amen Club’ – an initiative aimed at improving the quality of local communities and the nation. Jay continuously makes global strides and pays it forward through his passion for youth development.
Jay’s art work focuses more on highlighting the connection between purpose, meaning and nature through art. Nature has the ability to make us realise we are a part of something larger than ourselves. The art intends to explore the joy that can be found in this realisation.
Albeit his dedication to supporting those that surround him, Jay also prioritises celebrating his authentic self through his artist expression. “My art is my ability to see myself clearly to understand who I am, how others see me & how I fit into the world.” expresses Jay. He adds, “It’s the conscious knowledge of my own personality.”
As part of their “Come As You Are” Campaign, Crocs enlisted Carsons signature style in 10 variations of the classic clog. “This project it’s about celebrating the uniqueness of individuals and inspiring people to be comfortable in their own shoes.” shares Carson.
The collection will not go on sale, however will be shared amongst Jay’s close friends and family. A few have taken to social media showcasing themselves sporting the modish collaboration.
