Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 recently took kids and families to Bikini Bottom for the biggest underwater party of the year. South African kid influencer Kairo Forbes won the Favourite African Kidfluencer award, while popular gamer Kai Cenat, SpongeBob, and Simone Biles also emerged winners at the Slime Awards. Celebrate 25 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, by tuning in on Wednesday, July 17, at 15:00 CAT on NickToons Channel 305 on DStv.
Hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke), Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 featured: enhanced graphics, high-tech motion capture and augmented reality; fun celebrity collaborations and appearances from today’s top stars; the brand’s signature orange blimp award and epic slimings; and exciting surprises revealing fans’ favorite TV shows, movies, music and more.

The local KCA festivities also included an amazing Amapiano surprise in honour of SpongeBob SquarePants and the nominees by Amapiano sensation, Zee Nxumalo who says, “performing the Amapiano surprise for SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th anniversary was an absolute blast! It was an honour to bring something new with a splash of Mzansi flavour to the stage for such a loved character and to share it with all the amazing Nickelodeon Fam!
