13 March 2021 is your final chance to view The Shape of Things to Come.
The Shape of Things to Come is an exhibition by painter Dalia Raviv and ceramicist Theo Ntuntwana. Pop in for a mimosa and some acoustic guitar, any time between 10:30am and 2pm and view the exhibition before the we start prepping for our upcoming group exhibition (keep a lookout for the invites to be sent soon).
We are thrilled that things are slowly starting to open-up again, and we’re able to have a reasonable and responsible number of visitors to the gallery – but please do wear your mask, and be prepared to be sanitized on your way in.
Dalia Raviv is an Israeli-born artist, living and working in Johannesburg, South Africa since 1990. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Haifa. Dalia has participated in several group and solo exhibitions in Israel and abroad. Her work (mostly large-scale) is characterised by a distinct expressionist style, a bold and vibrant use of colour, and spontaneously layered brushstrokes. Working mostly in mixed media; a combination of acrylic paints, oil crayons, charcoal, and enamel on canvas. Dalia draws influence from life around her, depicting everyday scenes and stolen moments. The Shape of Things to Come juxtaposes a mix of abstracts and figurative work by Raviv.
Ndodiphela Ntuntwana, aka Theo Ntuntwana, was born in Butterworth’s, eTholeni location. He studied art at the college of Cape Town, and ceramics at Sivuyile College in Gugulethu. In 2014 Ntuntwana opened Theo Ceramics Studio in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. It was a life-changing and defining moment, driven by his vision to empower the youth and women in the area. Theo remains passionate about developing others and uplifting his community. His work illustratively displays the natural world (a constant theme) on functional ceramics. Ntuntwana has works in various important local and international collections and has exhibited extensively.
The Shape of Things to Come is also available to view online.
