Multi award-winning South African designer Lukhanyo Mdingi is starting the new year on a high note as with the launch of his Autumn/Winter 2022 collection in Paris. This was the designer’s first-ever presentation at Paris Fashion Week. Taking to Instagram, he shared that the collection was inspired by a visit to Burkina Faso.

“The premise of this season’s presentation is an expansion of the pure spirit of collaboration” pens the designer. He expands by delving into the inspiration behind the collection crediting resourceful afrcian country Burkina Faso. “A recent period of respite in Burkina Faso will now form the heart of the label’s opening showcase Bodyland.
“This is a celebration & testimony of the provenance of craft from these human beings, as the central figures through which broadening collaboration across the continent remains ever-possible,” says Mdingi.
His focus in fashion is not solely on textiles or making garments, it’s about being mindful too. “Everyone matters – period. It’s this practice that is of great importance to us.”
