Andrew Kayser is a contemporary artist living and working in inner-city Johannesburg, South Africa.
He graduated from the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (Royal Academy of Art), Den Haag, Netherlands in 2001 and
went on to participate in several exhibitions in and around the Netherlands before returning to South Africa in 2005.
After a lengthy struggle with alcoholism, Kayser regained sobriety, resuming his professional practice of art in 2014.
He has since held 3 solo exhibitions: A Moderate Bliss (THK Gallery, 2019) Christ Haus!! (Kalashnikovv Gallery, 2019) and At Home After Dark (Kalashnikovv Gallery, 2017).
He has participated in numerous group shows – most recently Cubicle Series January 2020 (Everard Read, Cape Town, SA) – and in 2019 his work was selected by THK Gallery to travel to Cologne Fine Art & Design, AKAA (Also Known As Africa) Art & Design Fair in Paris and Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair.
Kayser shows regularly at both FNB Joburg Art Fair and Investec Cape Town Art Fair and is represented in collections locally and abroad.
He is represented by THK Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa.
