South African fashion designer Nao Serati Mofammere and founder of the bepsoke, luxury label Nao Serati has announced a collaboration with Reebok in celebration of local Pride Month.
Nao Serati was founded by the designer in 2014 as a brand that strives to create garments that explore the margins of gender, art, and sexuality while continuing to stay true to its South African heritage. Serati’s designs often lend themselves to oversized silhouettes, crafted from lycra fabrications and adorned in psychedelic prints and paintwork. However, Mofammere’s label has now turned its attention to footwear with a new collaboration with Bolton-born shoe specialist Reebok in celebration of South African Pride Month.

The collaboration unveils new iterations of Reebok’s Nano X2, Classic Slide, Club, and Classic Leather silhouettes and draws inspiration from Serati’s experience of being a queer individual in his native country. Throughout the collection, each silhouette comes with a white base while sprinkles of each of the 11 separate titular hues seen on the Progress Flag are also sprinkled across in a rainbow formation. This has been done to celebrate South Africa’s LGBTQIA+ community and serves as a style that can represent the community throughout pride month and beyond. Each shoe model also comes adorned with a woven Nao Serati x Reebok tongue badge while the Classic Slide features debossed branding.
