District 9’s director unveils a masterpiece of a movie, Demonic.
Neil Blomkamp’s new movie, “Demonic”, will be released in theaters as well as digitally on the 20th of August.
This movie looks unlike any other horror science movie made before it. Blomkamp used a three-dimensional video technology which transforms actors into geometric objects. It is similar to the technology found in an Xbox, or used by the visual effects industries. This is an incredibly unique way of telling the story and Neil Blomkamp certainly outdid himself.
The director actually shot the film in secret during the pandemic.
When asked about this decision, Neil Blomkamp stated: “Living out here in this slightly more rural area I was thinking we should self-finance something so that we could make something cool. For a long time, I’ve been really interested in films like Paranormal Activity, and lower budget stuff that is pretty terrifying, and so we just started working on this concept.”
Demonic tells the story of how a woman “unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed.” The trailer shows a considerable amount of violence and gives viewers quite a lot of information regarding the plot. Sensitive viewers should be aware of this and children should not watch this movie. Teenagers are allowed if the appropriate parental guidance is applied.
Demonic stars Carly Pope (Elysium), Chris William Martin (The Age of Adaline, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, The Vampire Diaries), and Michael Rogers (Siren, The Blacklist, Supernatural). These are quite a few well-known actors and actresses in this movie. Fans are tremendously excited about the release of Demonic. Especially since Neil Blomkamp has been mainly focused on short films the fast few years. And since he is such an amazing director and it it not unknown for him to create great movies.
