Collaborative and conceptual artist Nix Davies, known for exploring possibilities that arise from consciously stepping into and existing in the unknown has made her latest collection of limited edition prints available with the proceeds benefiting Covid-19 food relief efforts.
“The announcement of lockdown initiated an incredible response within communities to build platforms of support for the inevitable hunger crisis that would arise as people lost their incomes,” said Nix Davies.
“Energy levels on all donor fronts started high; but even with the best of intentions, donor fatigue started to set in.”
Davies’ philosophies of process lie deep in connecting people to their passions; imagining beyond their current horizon line of understanding and navigating the unknown to reach new territory.
She explained: “I was inspired by a discussion about creative solutions to this situation and soon realised that I was sitting on a collection of beautiful, high quality prints that would give the donor a sense of return on their donation; opening up the opportunity for the act of giving to go full circle.
“There are 100 hand painted tree designs each with their own captivating, quirky title. Each design has a printed limited edition of 100. Forest of our Minds is a body of artwork that connects the individual to a collective community through the purchase of a tree or trees.”
Prints are sold on www.forestofourminds.org and one tree sale can contribute to feeding a family of four for a week.
Davies said: “The full body of work is 10,000 fine art tree prints; there are 100 original artworks and a limited edition of 100 prints of each.
“An aspect of the original concept was around raising humans around a common cause through the purchase of a tree; so it is apt that the artwork finds its voice here to provide support for those in need. A forest of art that feeds and nurtures humans.”
She added that the Covid-19 pandemic has accentuated global humanity and it’s fragile dance with nature.
“Forest of our Minds reconnects humans with nature with a beautiful representation of a crazy time in their homes; their place of being, nurturing, resting and now working.”
They’re selling globally so priced in Pounds but easily purchased locally. For each print sold at 25 GBP, 40% of the proceeds will go to Covid-19 food relief charities.
