South Africans are sharing their musical gift with us on their Tiny Desk (home) concerts
The Coming 2 America, Sounds of Zamunda Tiny Desk (home) concert is a gift from African musicians we should all express gratitude for. The musical gifts are from Nasty C together with Ari Lennox on Black and White and Prince Kaybee together with Msaki on Fetch Your Life. And the gift keeps on giving! NPR Music’s Tiny Desk also has Black Coffee, Soulstar, Una Rams, Tellaman, Pansula, Nduduzo, Godfrey Mntambo, Musa Nhlapo, Sandisiwe Sishuba and Bonokuhle Nkala-Mtsweni sharing an intimate space with us. The documentation of this space, inside the National School of the Arts’ (NSA) auditorium, brings us the beautiful vocals of Soulstar and beats of Black Coffee on You Rock My World , Msaki’s voice on Wish You Were Here and two songs from Black Coffee’s 2021 LP, Subconsciously.
