Even though the travel and tourism industry has felt the hardest knock as a result of the Coronavirus, Curiocity is committed to connecting local and international travellers through a virtual street-art tour in the vibrant neighbourhood of Maboneng.
Bheki Dube, Founder of Curiocity takes you on a six minute journey of uncovering the best street art in Maboneng with featured work from the likes of Nelson Makamo and Karabo Poppy.
Dube grew up in the heart of Johannesburg and has witnessed the resurgence of Maboneng, which he now calls ‘home’.
He said: “With growing up near Maboneng I have developed a strong affinity for this place and always drew inspiration from the street art and the creative energy of its people, and these are some of the things that attract many travelers to Maboneng.
“Through the years since being established we have built a close-knit bond with our travel community and during this time of the pandemic we wanted to bring a sense of hope that they will get to travel again but for now they can admire the beauty that is in the inner-city of Johannesburg in the comfort of their homes.”
Curiocity aims to spark nostalgia to its travel community and inspire future travelers to add Maboneng on their bucket list as a destination of choice for those that wish to travel again after the pandemic.
