Thebe Magugu, has ben showcasing his Heritage capsule collection annually since 2022. This collection pays homage to his South African roots and celebrates the African tribes and customs that have influenced him throughout his life.
In his latest installment, Thebe taps into the traction of “Lobola,” a centuries-old practice where the groom’s family offers gifts, traditionally cattle but now often, money, to the bride’s family before marriage.
For this collection, Magugu introduces a menswear line alongside his womenswear pieces, collaborating with artist Path Nembilwi to create garments featuring illustrations representing the customs of “Lobola.” The womenswear includes nine hourglass-shaped shirt dresses with 70s-inspired collars and stainless steel coin buttons.

In the menswear line, lightweight satin shirts with keyhole necklines and stainless steel coin buttons are paired with tailored black trousers and fez-like hats created in collaboration with local artisans. The collection also features classic footwear from a renowned South African shoe brand, completing the sophisticated and culturally rich looks.
