Tshepiso Seleke’s photographs converse with his words (in his captions)

Photographs and a thousand words 
When we say pictures speak a thousand words, we mean that there is something so vigorous in the unspoken visuals that are captured. We mean that what we see functions as what we usually hear, read or say. Tshepiso Seleke’s photographs, however, speak a thousand words and in addition to that, recite to us what it is that his photographs communicate to him. Seleke’s captions serve as a part of what visuals would present as a captured in a moment we’re not in. They bring us back to the life breathed into the photo.
His written words are an accompaniment to the narratives his photos carry of our land. Seleke photographs our daily life and permits access to live with those he captures. His captions do not complete the story; they are the art of the pages he presents to us.
