Discover a heartfelt exhibition at the IDC Gallery, presented by BASA in collaboration with artist Audrey Lisik. The ‘Moments in Miniature’ collection showcases a mix of watercolour, gouache, pencil, and digital art, capturing the essence of the first 21 days of lockdown. This exhibition, running all through August 2024 in honour of Women’s Day, unpacks the impact of the pandemic on artists from diverse creative backgrounds.
Since 2022, BASA and the IDC have joined forces to support emerging artists and promote creative entrepreneurs. Their ongoing partnership has resulted in impactful projects like the IDC Emerging Artists Showcase, establishing the IDC Gallery as a hub for social and economic development through art, with a special focus on youth, women, and individuals with disabilities.

Audrey Lisik, a self-taught artist and illustrator, takes center stage in this collaboration with BASA. Divided into two thematic series ‘Scene’ and ‘People,’ her collection portrays the dual nature of the lockdown experience for artists, balancing fear with hope and creativity.
The ‘Scene’ series talks about the tools and environments central to artistic disciplines, conveying the anxiety and isolation felt during lockdown. In contrast, the ‘People’ series offers an intimate glimpse into artists’ lives at home, radiating optimism, resilience, and the enduring spirit of creativity.

In her reflections on working with BASA, Audrey Lisik expressed gratitude for the platform that has allowed her to explore and express her artistic voice freely. The ‘Moments in Miniature’ exhibition is just one of many successful projects born from the partnership between BASA and the IDC.
