The Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2025 is set to showcase some amazing artists in its Tomorrows/Today section. Curated by Dr. Mariella Franzoni, this year’s theme is ‘Experience, Attempt, Experiment’. It focuses on new ideas and creative exploration, featuring a variety of art forms including textiles, photography, and paintings.

One of the standout artists is Mankebe Seakgoe from South Africa. Mankebe is known for using unusual materials like PVC pipes, beads, and wire. Challenging us to think about how we communicate.

Another artist is Warren Maroon, also from South Africa. Warren uses personal experiences and the challenges of growing up in the Cape Flats to create sculptures. Telling stories of trauma and resilience.

Thando Phenyane, another South African artist, captures the essence of youth culture through photography and video work. Providing an honest and raw look at contemporary life, addressing social issues that affect young people today.

This year’s Tomorrows/Today section is all about pushing boundaries and starting important conversations. The fair’s theme, PLAY, allows these artists to think deeply, and redefine what contemporary art can be.
