After years away from the spotlight, South African house music icons Liquideep are officially back. The multi-award-winning duo have announced a global partnership with Africori/Warner Music Africa while simultaneously releasing their first single under the label, For The Night, signalling the beginning of a bold new era.

The announcement marks one of the biggest comeback stories in South African music, pairing one of the country’s most influential electronic acts with a global music network as they prepare to introduce both their iconic catalogue and new material to audiences around the world.

A partnership built for global ambitions

Liquideep’s signing with Africori, which has been part of the Warner Music family since 2025, gives the duo access to an international distribution, marketing and artist development network aimed at expanding their global reach.

For Thabo “Ryzor” Shokgolo and Jonathan “Ziyon” Hamilton, the partnership represents far more than a return driven by nostalgia.

“This feels like the beginning of something incredibly meaningful,” the duo shared. “We’ve never been interested in simply returning for nostalgia. We wanted to come back because we still have something honest to say through our music.”

The duo added that the collaboration allows them to honour their musical legacy while embracing a future built on artistic freedom, authenticity and purpose.

Returning with For The Night

Coinciding with the announcement is the release of For The Night, Liquideep’s first single through Africori/Warner Music Africa.

Built around warm melodies, soulful vocals and a smooth mid-tempo groove, the track captures the signature sound that made Liquideep one of South Africa’s defining electronic music acts while introducing a refined contemporary edge. Designed for both intimate listening and dancefloors, the single reflects the balance between familiarity and artistic evolution that defines the duo’s comeback.

According to Liquideep, the song reflects who they are today rather than attempting to recreate the past.

“For The Night represents exactly where we are today,” they explain. “It’s familiar in spirit because that’s who we are, but it’s also a reflection of everything we’ve experienced over the years.”

One of South Africa’s defining musical acts

For more than a decade, Liquideep helped shape the sound of modern South African house music through emotionally driven songwriting and sophisticated production.

Hits including Fairytale, Alone, Still, BBM and Rise Again became defining moments in South African popular music, earning the duo multi-platinum success, numerous industry awards and an international following that continues to grow.

Their reunion has already generated excitement among long-time fans while introducing a younger generation to a catalogue that remains influential years after its original release.

Looking ahead

Africori General Manager Adam Tiran describes Liquideep as pioneers whose influence extends well beyond commercial success, noting that their music has become part of South Africa’s cultural identity because of its authenticity and emotional resonance.

Meanwhile, business manager Poobie Pillay says the partnership provides the infrastructure needed to take Liquideep’s music to audiences worldwide through Africori and Warner Music’s international distribution network.

With a globally backed partnership now in place and For The Night leading the way, Liquideep are entering a new phase that celebrates both their legacy and their future. Rather than revisiting past successes, the duo are positioning themselves for a fresh chapter, one that aims to reconnect with longtime fans while introducing their unmistakable sound to listeners across the world.
