South African actor, dancer and creative Chidera “CHICHI” Nwoha is stepping into a new creative space with Museum of Moments, a fashion editorial that combines performance, photography and contemporary style. Created in collaboration with Calvin Klein, the visual series explores identity, vulnerability and self-expression through a minimalist aesthetic that places movement and emotion at the centre of every frame.

Rather than treating fashion as the primary focus, Museum of Moments positions clothing as a vehicle for storytelling. The editorial embraces clean compositions and understated styling, allowing gesture, body language and presence to become the dominant visual language.

Fashion meets performance

Inspired by Calvin Klein’s timeless approach to design, the editorial celebrates simplicity while creating space for more intimate narratives to emerge. Through carefully composed imagery, Museum of Moments encourages viewers to slow down and appreciate the beauty found in fleeting experiences.

The project was creatively directed by Thabang Mashinini, Mpilo Zandamela and Chidera “CHICHI” Nwoha, with photography by Tebogo Felix. Together, the team crafted a visual story where fashion and performance exist in conversation rather than competition.

A multidisciplinary creative on the rise

While the editorial marks a new chapter in Nwoha’s creative journey, it builds on an already impressive career spanning theatre, television and dance.

He is currently rehearsing as a male swing in the South African production of Mamma Mia! while simultaneously working on an upcoming South African Netflix production. Across stage and screen, his work reflects an interest in storytelling that extends beyond traditional performance, embracing photography and visual art as additional forms of creative expression.

His theatre résumé includes productions such as Pretty Woman: The Musical, Chicago, Sarafina!, Joburg Ballet’s Romeo & Juliet, Paw Patrol Live! and Sho’t Left Broadway, while his screen credits include Ludik, Members Only, Scandal, MTV Shuga Down South and Pearls of Wisdom.

Finding stillness through movement

Although rooted in fashion, Museum of Moments carries the sensibility of a performer. Every image feels carefully choreographed, balancing movement with stillness to create portraits that feel both immediate and timeless.

The editorial reflects Nwoha’s wider artistic philosophy, one that sees the body not only as a performer on stage, but as an instrument capable of communicating emotion, memory and identity through visual storytelling.

By merging dance, portraiture and fashion into a single body of work, Museum of Moments demonstrates how creative disciplines can intersect to produce something that feels both contemporary and enduring. As Nwoha continues to expand his career across theatre, television and visual art, the editorial offers a compelling glimpse into the breadth of his creative practice.
