In celebration of Lacoste’s 90th anniversary, the brand collaborated with graffiti artist Dbongz Mahlathi to create a special mural for Amapiano star Reece Madlisa. The mural was unveiled on 17 November, in the Maboneng neighbourhood.
Dbongz Mahlathi, a street artist from the West of Johannesburg, has been involved in street art since 2008. He was drawn to the freedom, colours and the ability to spread conceptual messages through the large canvases that walls provide. His passion for street art led him to collaborate with Lacoste for this special project.
To further celebrate the collaboration and Lacoste’s anniversary, a popup event was held at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton from November 17th to 19th. Fans and customers had the opportunity to meet Reece Madlisa on the 18th during a greet and meet session.
