During the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns, Reuben found solace in his art. He turned to sketching as a form of therapy, using it as a means to cope with the isolation and uncertainty of the times. This rekindled passion for creating led him to host his first solo exhibition in November 2021.
The exhibition, titled “Pieces Of Me,” offered a unique perspective on the isolated nature of existence, which was further amplified by the pandemic. Reuben’s artwork showcased vibrant colours and contemporary forms, juxtaposed against the relatable realism of everyday life. Through his art, he aimed to provide solace to viewers, encouraging them to find comfort in solitude and explore different aspects of themselves.
