Cape Town Furniture Week (CTFW) is back for its second year, promising a celebration of local design. From February 14th to 17th, this four day event will showcase the best contemporary furniture brands in Cape Town.With over 25 venues spread across four districts in the city center, CTFW offers a curated program of showrooms, exhibitions, talks, tours, and the CTFW Awards.
The best part? The event is free for all to attend, making it accessible to the public. It’s a great opportunity to discover exceptional designs, meet the talented designers and entrepreneurs behind them, and immerse yourself in the festivities while exploring the city on foot.

The festivities kick off on Wednesday, February 14th, with an evening of openings from 5pm to 8pm .Just like the first Thursdays open gallery program, participants are encouraged to walk from venue to venue. The showrooms will then be open from 10am to 5pm on Thursday and Friday, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday. Each day will feature a packed schedule of talks, walkabouts, and events.
This year, CTFW features over 40 Cape Town-based brands, including African Jacquard, Anatomy Design, ARRANGE Studio, Ben Kennedy Design, and many more. These designers will showcase their creations, giving visitors a chance to experience the diversity and innovation of Cape Town’s furniture industry.

The New Design Exhibition, located in the Habitus Building on 61 Loop Street, serves as the official CTFW festival hub. It features new pieces by South African brands and designers, alongside the PROTO exhibition, which showcases conceptual and collectible design pieces. Notable exhibitors include Arrange Studio, Bupa Studios, Frystark, Hoi P’loy, and Wiid Design.
This year’s program also includes a series of talks organized by individual exhibitors, as well as official CTFW talks. These include “Making, Here, Now,” a panel discussion on local production, and “Designing the Future,” a panel discussion on sustainability and the circular economy.
Additionally, factory and studio tours will take place outside of the City Bowl, providing a behind-the-scenes look at renowned establishments like Pedersen + Lennard, James Mudge Furniture Studio, and Wiid Design.
