Solo Studios 2024, an annual art event held in the charming town of Riebeek Kasteel, will be taking place on Women’s Day weekend from Friday, August 9 to Sunday, August 11. This event ] now in its eighth year, will be presenting art enthusiasts with an opportunity to experience an intimate encounter with art in Riebeek Valley, just a short drive from Cape Town.
At Solo Studios, visitors will have the chance to explore the creative workspaces of thirty three talented solo artists, including painters, mixed media artists, ceramicists, and more. Some of the featured artists this year include Sharon Bischoff, Wiehan de Jager, Ade Kipades, and Riaan van Zyl. Galleries such as RK contemporary Gallery, Gallery 7, and Die Kunshuis will also be participating in the event.

In addition to the art exhibitions. Solo Studio 2024, will offer a variety of cultural activities to enhance the overall experience. Foodies can look forward to The Night of Long Tables, a series of long table food events curated by chef Isabella Niehaus, featuring wine pairings from local Swartland producers.
Entertainment at Solo Studios will include performances by artist Aldo Brincat, who will present his solo theatre production “The Moon Looks Delicious Here,” a poignant exploration of family relationships in the South African context. Other performers include the Winelands Philharmonic Orchestra and singer-songwriter Wren Hinds, adding a musical dimension to the event.
