In partnership with Undiscovered Canvas, Galerie Artismagna is proud to present – ECLIPSE. An exhibition that will revolve around African art experiences in France, featuring works by Luluma ‘Wolf’ Mlambo and Nene Mahlangu. The duo’s show exhibition curated by Nomaza Nongqunga-Coupez, Rodrigue Naucelles and Emmanuel de Boisset will be held at Galerie Artismagna in Paris from 17th to 27th November 2022.
Nene Mahlangu, born in Ga-Rankuwa, is a multidisciplinary visual artist working in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is interested in self-portraiture, womenness, and race. Mahlangu’s ethereal images have adorned the walls of regional and worldwide art festivals and exhibitions, drawing inspiration from sexuality, fashion, politics, and religion. Her artistic style has changed from realistic monochrome pieces to colorful, large-scale sketches and paintings.
Lulama ‘Wolf’ Mlambo is a visual artist from Johannesburg, well-known for her creative use of photography and digital collages using mixed media to express himself in a variety of ways. Space, spirituality, and vernacular architectural influences all play a major role in Mlambo’s work as she creates hyper-imagined characters to examine the human condition in incredibly unique ways. Mlambo’s curiosity about science in the African context, how the many themes are connected, and what functions they provide forms the intersection of neo-expression and modern African art.
