The STADIO School of Fashion is excited to announce its annual student fashion show at the Mall of Africa on November 30. The anticipated event will feature two showcases, the first at 6:30 PM and the second at 8:30 PM, both taking place at entrance 24 of the mall.
Maryne Steenekamp, the head of the school, described the fashion show as a celebration of creativity and hard work. “Our showcase is always a highlight that highlights the talent of our fashion students,” said Steenekamp. “We are very proud of their achievements, and this event is a fantastic chance for them to share their creativity with the public.”

Stadio’s students have been making extremely involved in the fashion world lately, with Lente Lubbinge winning the 2024 SA Fashion Week Student Competition. This win is a prominent achievement and shows the potential of emerging designers.
The fashion show is an opportunity for students to present their designs based on various themes. The school offers several programs, including higher certificates, Degrees, and BA honours. Steenekamp mentioned that the themes this year are imaginative and relevant to current issues. For example, higher certificate students will showcase a nature-themed collection called “Grow,” while first-year BA students will present designs with a “Future Utility” theme. Third-year BA students will display their work under the theme “Open Ranges.”
In preparation for the show, the students have worked hard with their dedicated lecturers. Steenekamp noted that the show aims to entertain and inspire everyone who attends while attracting new students to the fashion program.
This year, the Stadio School of Fashion is proud to collaborate with Proudly South African and Levi’s Africa. Sandeep Sokhanda, the country manager for Levi’s Africa, praised the students for their efforts and looked forward to seeing their progress.

He emphasized the importance of sustainability, stating, “Through our partnership with Clothes to Good, we aim to promote sustainability in our communities. Our work with Stadio is in line with this goal.” Sokhanda also highlighted the students’ designs made from upcycled denim, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
Tickets for the fashion show are in high demand and will be available for purchase starting November 25 at the Stadio Randburg and Hatfield campuses for R250 each.
