The Johannesburg based brand DOPEstore has recently dropped a hot new collection under their DOPEwhite sub-label, primarily inspired by the tennis champion Arthur Ashe. An African American tennis player known for the role he played in tennis and in particular Apartheid South Africa. The tennis champion faced adversity by playing a tournament in SA set under his own terms, where he insisted on having no segregation at his matches. To honor Ashe’s bravado, DOPEstore presents a collection that pays homage to the champion’s legacy. DOPEwhite features essential pieces, designed with bold graphics of the tennis legend that illustrate him playing and interacting with kinds in Soweto.
