Showmax has released the trailer for “Red Ink,” an eight-part thriller series based on Angela Makholwa-Moabelo’s bestselling debut novel. The series follows the journey of Lucy Khambule, a journalist turned publicist who is approached by a serial killer to tell his story. With an all-star cast and plot.
“Red Ink” is a collaborative effort between Makholwa-Moabelo’s Britespark Films and Bomb Productions. This marks Bomb’s first Showmax Original, following their successful production of DStv’s most-watched drama, “Shaka iLembe.” The series is directed by Zeno Petersen and Adze Ugah, both of whom were part of the directing team for “Shaka iLembe.”
Fans of South African television will be delighted to see the reunion of the “Zulu brothers” from “The Wife,” as Kwenzo Ngcobo (Qhawe) and Abdul Khoza (Nqoba) join the cast of “Red Ink.”
The series also features acclaimed actors such as Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku, breakout star of Showmax’s hit series “Outlaws,” as well as SAFTA winners Bongile Mantsai, Jo-Anne Reyneke, Lorcia Cooper Khumalo, Tsholofelo Maseko, and Yonda Thomas.
With an intriguing storyline and a talented ensemble cast, “Red Ink” promises to be a gripping and suspenseful thriller that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
The trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse into the series, leaving audiences eager for more. As the first Showmax Original from Bomb Productions, “Red Ink” is set to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative and high production quality.
