Worx Group, a Johannesburg-based marketing and events agency, believes that as much as 2020 will stand out because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it will be remembered equally for the incredible acts of human kindness and generosity that South Africans have shown through this difficult time.
“CSI and outreach programs have always been a part of our make-up at Worx Group”, said Worx Group MD Jessica MacRoberts.
In the past Worx Group has focused primarily on enterprise development and vocational training initiatives.
With the severe economic impact of the pandemic and resultant shutdown, MacRoberts and her team have been inspired by the spirit of ubuntu and have refocused their efforts to support a wider range of worthy beneficiaries.
MacRoberts said: “There is no doubt that the pandemic has had a disastrous effect on the events industry, but we know that many people, across many sectors, are suffering.
“We are therefore pinpointing a number of different causes within three areas – health, community and SMMEs.”
Worx Group’s ‘Pay it Forward’ initiative was launched on 1 May, in terms of which for every new Worx Group project confirmed from 1 May 2020, a portion of the revenue from the overall project budget will be donated to support a worthy cause.
“We look forward to exploring opportunities with our clients to make a difference in the lives of others negatively impacted by Covid-19,” said MacRoberts
