Cape Town Crowned The World’s Best City – Here’s Why

Cape Town has been named the Best City in the World in Time Out’s annual survey! The news comes from the voices of over 18,500 locals and 100 city experts from around the globe. This award shows that Cape Town is not just a beautiful place but also a cultural gem that everyone should visit.

Cape Town is famous for its stunning views, its history, and culture. From the  Table Mountain to the colourful Bo-Kaap neighbourhood, there’s something for everyone. The city is also known for its food and nightlife, making it a perfect spot for both adventure and relaxation.

If you’re in Cape Town this week, here are some fun events you can enjoy:

1. Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra

   – When: 24 and 25 January at 8 PM

   – Where: Maynardville, Wynberg

   – What:  Enjoy a night of classical music as the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra performs “Stormy Weather – A Symphonic Weather Report.” Under the direction of conductor Brandon Phillips, you’ll experience hymns of nature, with thunder and lightning sounds. The show will be narrated by John Woodland, who will guide you through this musical.

2. The Cape Town Met

   – When: Saturday, 25 January from 10 AM to 10 PM

   – Where: Kenilworth Racecourse

   – What:  Don’t miss the Cape Town Met, the horse race in South Africa! This year’s theme is “Couture Unleashed,” so expect stylish outfits and exciting races. The event has a long history, dating back to 1883, and it’s a great way to enjoy a day of horse racing and entertainment.

3. Ndlovu Youth Choir

   – When: From 30 January to 1 February

   – Where: Artscape Opera House

   – What: The Ndlovu Youth Choir is back with a lineup of songs! With fifteen singers and a live band, they will perform new hits, including a version of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” They will also celebrate South African music legends with a curated medley.
