Johannesburg, October 16, 2023: Ever the originator, one of SA’s most sought after Sartorialists, designer Palmer Mutandwa, together with Stella Artois, revealed his Summer Capsule Collection at Glenda’s in Hyde Park, Johannesburg on the weekend.
Exhibiting the Button Brothers brand’s strong ethos and values, the collection is majorly sartorial with different designs of dinner jackets, safari suits along with an introduction of new menswear and womenswear looks which not only tell the African story but prove to be also highly functional for day-to-day summer living.

“This collection Is about bridging the gap between spheres by applying a design ethos based off of our strong pan-African past while using some of the world’s best fabric to create high quality made-in-Africa products,” says Palmer, known for dressing some of Mzansi’s most prominent businesspeople and entertainers.
“Sartorial enthusiasts are interested in wearing suits and other garments that are classic in both look and construction, with a nod to current design trends. They appreciate handwork, artisan craftsmanship details, and elegant fabrics and this collection has all of that,” added Palmer. “The colour palette, meanwhile, was mainly inspired by my travels to Italy during the northern summer and I am excited to have interpreted them our own way, the African way.”

The collection also has the most female styles Button Brothers have ever released, with the Maria linen dress, an ode to Palmer’s mother, being his favourite and most personal design owing to its simplicity and elegance, characteristics he says which resemble her.
