Volvo South Africa has joined forces with designers Fikile Sokhulu and Nao Serati Mofammere to showcase a collaboration that blends sustainability, technology, and fashion. The designers were tasked with creating ready-to-wear garments inspired by the electric Volvo EX30 using both AI technology and sustainable design practices.
Fikile, known for her approach to materials and sustainability, drew inspiration from the renewable and recycled materials found in the Volvo EX30’s interior. Using AI technology, she crafted an outfit tailored for Esports team owner Thea Booysen, reflecting the freshness and lightness of acceleration in the EX30.

Fikile’s design incorporated elements from the car’s indigo interior theme, including recycled textiles and denim fibers reclaimed from old jeans
Nao, recognized for his unisex South African-inspired garments, worked with materials from the Volvo EX30’s Mist interior theme. By integrating input from Midjourney AI, Nao created a striking outfit symbolizing power, strength, and elegance, mirroring the qualities of the EX30.

His design featured responsibly sourced wool blends and textile inlays made from recycled fishing nets, adding a touch inspired by the car’s interior materials.
